Sawsan A. Habbal was born in Damascus , the capital of the Syrian Arab Republic . She grew up in Syria and worked with different establishments including the UN, Siemens, and The British Embassy in Damascus, Syria. Ms. Habbal received her education in London, England, and then her Law degree from McGill University, Montreal, Canada. Ms. Habbal was called to the bar in the Province of British Columbia In 1995, and has been working as a barrister and solicitor until her retirement in November of 2018. She was also a qualified family mediator by the Law Society of BC and a member of the British Columbia Mediator Roster Society as a civil mediator. Ms .Habbal has extensive business and commercial contacts in Syria . She is actively involved in promoting commercial and cultural relationship between Syria and the Province of British Columbia. Ms. Habbal speaks fluent English, French and Arabic and converses in Spanish.
